Prerequisites
- WordPress 5.0 or higher
- A DataFast account
- Installation and Configuration documentation followed, ensuring a Web Site ID and API Key are specified.
Overview
The DataFast WordPress Plugin can be configured to track specific goals your visitors perform in WooCommerce – such as viewing a product, or completing checkout.
Configuration
To configure DataFast to start capturing WooCommerce goals, access the Plugin’s settings screen by navigating to Settings > Integrate DataFast Web Analytics in WordPress
Click the WooCommerce tab
Don’t see the WooCommerce tab? Ensure the WooCommerce Plugin is installed and active on the WordPress web site.
A number of goals can be tracked:
- View Product: Adds a goal when an individual WooCommerce product is viewed
- Add to Cart: Adds a goal when an item is added to the WooCommerce cart
- Update Cart: Adds a goal when the WooCommerce cart is updated (for example, quantity changed, item removed, coupon code applied)
- View Cart: Adds a goal when the WooCommerce cart is viewed
- Checkout Started: Adds a goal when the WooCommerce checkout is viewed
- Checkout Completed: Adds a goal when the WooCommerce checkout is completed, creating a WooCommerce Order.
For each goal you wish to track, enable it by checking / ticking the applicable checkbox.
Save Settings
Once the settings are configured, click the Save Changes button.
Access Goals in DataFast
Once visitors have started performing goals that are enabled (for example, viewing their cart, a product or completing checkout), the Goals are accessible in DataFast under the Goal tab:
Common Issues
Goals not tracking
- Ensure the applicable goals have been enabled at Integrate DataFast Web Analytics > WooCommerce
- Ensure any server or plugin caching solution has cleared its cache
- View the web page as a non-logged in user, or a logged in user that is not a WordPress administrator
- If your web page is on localhost, 127.0.0.1, a .local or .test domain, DataFast won’t track
