If you see a message in your WordPress Plugin stating “The number of domains this license key can be used on has been exceeded”, you have two options:
- Upgrade your License
- Change the domain your license uses
Upgrade your License
To upgrade your license, please refer to the Documentation.
Change Domain
Single Licenses
If, within the Plugin’s licensing screen, you see an error notification stating that the number of domains have been exceeded for the license, this is due to one or more of the following:
- A change of your web site’s domain name (including subdomain, from www to non-www or non-www to www),
- A change of your WordPress Site’s URL
- A change of hosting
- A limit has been reached on the number of sites, based on the license type you own
To change / fix:
- If moving the Plugin between sites, Deactivate the Plugin on the old site at WordPress Admin > Plugins > (Plugin Name) > Deactivate
- It’s important to perform this first step, to ensure that the old site doesn’t attempt to reactivate the license
- On your site, navigate to WordPress Admin > Settings > General, and note the precise value entered at Site Address (URL)

- Visit https://www.wpzinc.com/account
- Login with your email address and password
- Click on the License Keys link.

- Beside your license key click on the Manage button under the Actions column

- On the Manage License Key screen that now appears, change the domain name as necessary
- Domain names should take the following examples, based on your installation, and must exclude http:// and https://
- Root, www: www.yoursite.com
- Root, subdomain: subdomain.yoursite.com
- Root, no subdomain: yoursite.com
- Subfolder: yoursite.com/subfolder
- Click the Save Changes button
- On the new site, activate the Plugin
- Navigate to the Plugin’s licensing screen, to force a check of the license key

No domains or option to specify a domain here? Your license is not active on any site, therefore refer to the Entering your License Key documentation to specify the License Key on the target installation.
Multi Licenses
- Deactivate the Plugin on the old site

Unlimited and Lifetime Licenses
As of October 2025, domain management is no longer available for Unlimited and Lifetime licenses.
These licenses have no domain limit, meaning removing a site never prevented the license key from being reused on that site or elsewhere. In other words, there was nothing to “manage” – the license already grants unrestricted use on any number of sites you personally own.
If you need to control where a license is active – for example, if your license is used on a client’s site and you want the ability to revoke access – you’ll need an Agency or Agency Lifetime license, in line with our Terms and Conditions.
Agency licenses include:
- Full domain management (add/remove sites at any time) with domain control
- Whitelabelling and access control, to hide and protect the product from client access
- Rights to use the software across multiple client projects.
If you hold an Unlimited or Lifetime license and wish to upgrade to an Agency license, you can do so at the pro-rata price, cheaper than purchasing an Agency license.
Alternatively, if your clients maintain their own sites, we recommend they purchase individual licenses. This supports ongoing development and ensures they can continue using the software independently after your work concludes.
Agency and Agency Lifetime Licenses
For Agency License holders, refer to the separate Documentation.
