Generate: Page Builders Integration: Oxygen Builder

This guide refers to basic usage of Page Generator Pro with Oxygen Builder.  It is not a substitute for referring to the Generate: Content Documentation, which must be read first to understand all Content Group configuration options.

Prerequisites

Older versions may work, however the steps below may not reflect the available functionality.

Setup

Failure to follow all steps in this section may result in incorrect working functionality.

Before using Oxygen Builder in your Content Group, you’ll need to:

  • Navigate to Oxygen > Settings > Security
  • Either:
    • Disable Oxygen’s shortcode signature validation (one time), or
    • Sign all Oxygen Shortcodes (after each generation batch completes).
  • Navigate to Page Generator Pro > Settings > Generate
  • Either:
    • Disable Use Performance Addon setting.
    • Enable Use Performance Addon setting, and enable / tick Oxygen in the Performance Addon: Load Plugins setting.

Add a Content Group

To add a new Content Group to Page Generator Pro, click the Add New button below the Content Groups title, which can be found towards the top of the screen:
Page Generator Pro: Generate Content:

You will then be presented with a screen similar to the one used to edit your WordPress Posts and Pages:
[]

It’s recommended that you first:

Once saved, click the Edit with Oxygen button:
Page Generator Pro: Generate: Content: Oxygen Builder: Edith with Oxygen Buttton

Edit a Content Group

To edit an existing Content Group in Page Generator Pro, click the Title of the Group that you want to edit:
Page Generator Pro: Generate: Group Actions

Click the Edit with Oxygen button:
Page Generator Pro: Generate: Content: Oxygen Builder: Edith with Oxygen Buttton

Templates and Re-usable Parts

Oxygen’s Templates and Re-usable Parts give you full control over content, layout and specific sections.  Due to the nature of how these work in Oxygen, editing these in one place will instantly update them in all other places they exist across your site.

With this in mind, you can’t edit Templates or Re-usable Parts in a Content Group, without those edits affecting other places that use those Templates or Re-usable Parts.  Therefore, Templates and Re-usable Parts don’t support Keywords, Spintax, Dynamic Elements.

You may define a Template within the Content Group’s Oxygen Render Page Using Template setting, but that template must contain an inner content element.  The Content Group, and Page Generator Pro, can only control that inner content element.

Dynamic Elements

Oxygen Builder’s Rich Text Module uses the Classic Editor / TinyMCE, therefore allowing you to build each Dynamic Element’s shortcode using the UI:
Page Generator Pro: Generate: Content: Oxygen Builder: Rich Text

Don’t see these options? If you’ve defined Render Page using Template, remember that the Oxygen Template must have an Inner Content Module.

How to do this can be found in the Adding: Classic Editor / TinyMCE section of each of the Documentation links below:

For other Oxygen Builder modules, you’ll need to manually build each Dynamic Element’s shortcode using the documented parameters.  These can be found in the Adding: Page Builders section of each of the Documentation links below:
